Cross-border drugs checks net 80

Police from the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg have arrested some 80 people after a weekend crackdown on cross-border drugs use.

Extra checks were carried out on motorways and provincial roads between the three countries, as well as in trains and notorious drug user hangouts, news agency ANP said. Most arrests were made in Maastricht.
The haul included soft drugs, cocaine, heroine, tear gas and a tazer electric shock gun.
