Budget: employers say plans are ‘sensible’
The cabinet has published a ‘sensible’ budget for next year in light of the difficult economic circumstances the country is facing, according to the main employers’ organisations VNO-NCW, MKB-Nederland and LTO, reports ANP news agency.
The budget has not put extra financial strain on businesses although credit remains a point of concern for the employers’ organisations, says ANP. The employers want the cabinet to take measures to ensure that the early moves towards economic recovery are not hampered by a lack of credit.
The organisations also warn that the collapse of the construction sector and the accompanying loss of jobs is damaging for the whole economy and call for extra cash to be made available for the building industry both from public and private sources.
However, the employers are pleased that the cabinet is already considering how government finances can be brought back on track. They also want more investment in infrastructure, know-how and a far-reaching revamp of the public sector.
