Logica posts 8% profit rise in first half

Logica, the Anglo-Dutch IT company, has reported an 8% rise to ₤127m in operating profit in the first half of 2009 compared with the same period last year.

Revenue rose 6% to ₤1.9bn in the same period, said Logica on Friday.
The result from continuing operations and excluding extraordinary items was higher than analysts had expected, according to press reports.
Logica said it is maintaining its forecast of stable operating profit margins in 2009 and that the company is still on course to make ₤75m cost savings this year.
In a statement, CEO Andy Green said Logica had ‘produced good results in a challenging market’.
