Air transport passengers and cargo down
Passenger and cargo transport via Dutch airports fell again in the first quarter of 2009, reports the national statistics office CBS on Monday.
Cargo volumes were down 27% and passenger numbers fell by 13% to 9.35 million in the first quarter of this year compared to the same 2008 period, said the CBS.
Cargo flights to and from China saw a 43% decrease in the first quarter while transport between the US and the Netherlands was down 28%.
But air transport to Kenya bucked the trend and was up 22% compared to a year earlier said the CBS.
