Mortgage agents’ bonuses to be banned
Banks and insurance companies are to be banned from paying agents extra bonuses for selling their products from next year, the cabinet agreed on Friday afternoon.
And agents will be required by law to tell their customers how much they earn from each mortgage or insurance contract they sell, ministers agreed.
The proposal will first be sent to the council of state for its opinion before legislation is submitted to parliament later in the year.
