Medical specialists to sue health minister

Medical specialists are to take health minister Ab Klink to court over his plans to cut their income by up to 11%, news agency ANP reports.

Klink is taking steps to reduce specialists’ salaries because they have overspent their budgets by a combined €375m. Changes in the way specialists declare their costs introduced last year have led to some earning much more than they used to, ANP says.
The specialists’ professional association says the overspend is just €80m and says it is wrong to make all doctors suffer because a few have spent more than they should.
