Housing takes up most of household cash

The average Dutch household spent €31,300 last year, of which 24% went on housing and 17% on transport, the national statistics office said on Wednesday.

Food accounted for 16% of household spending.
The cost of housing claimed almost 30% of spending by households on minimum incomes and 20% of spending by wealthy families, the CBS said.
