Ex-Liberial president takes stand in Hague
Ex-Liberian president Charles Taylor took the stand for the first time at the special court for Sierra Leone in The Hague.
Taylor, who denies 11 counts of terrorism, murder, rape and torture, said the war crimes case against him was ‘lies’.
He is accused of having armed and directed rebel groups from Liberia in order to seize control of Sierra Leone’s diamonds.
