Summer holiday bookings slow

Summer holiday bookings are 13% down on 2008, the travel sector umbrella organisation ANVR was quoted as saying in Wednesday’s Nederlands Dagblad.

In particular, long trips to exotic locations are out of favour, the organisation said.
Nevertheless, travel companies are optimistic and say the sector can take a few knocks. They expect bookings to pick up at the end of May when pay packets are swelled by the annual holiday bonus, the paper said.
