Verdonk wants a hooded sweatshirt ban

Youngsters should be required by law to take off the hoods of their hooded sweatshirts when in shops or other public spaces, MP Rita Verdonk said on Wednesday.

Faces should always be in full view for security cameras, Verdonk said during a parliamentary debate on tackling the nuisance caused by teenagers.
‘We have cameras all over the place but we can never recognise a troublemaker because they’ve got their hoods down to their navels,’ Verdonk was reported as saying by news agency Novum.
Several shopping centres in the UK have banned ‘hoodies’ in a effort to cut youth-related crime.
