Woman who saved Anne Frank diary is 100

Miep Gies, the woman who befriended Anne Frank’s family while they were in hiding during World War II and rescued her diary after the family were betrayed, celebrated her 100th birthday on Sunday.


Gies, who still lives at home, cared for the family for two years and found the diary in a desk drawer after the Franks had been deported.
