Roadside bomb maker gets 25 years

Dutch Iraqi Wesam al-Delaema has accepted a 25-year jail term for setting roadside bombs in Iraq, news agency ANP reports on Friday.

The deal follows a statement made by Al-Delaema before the Washington federal court on Thursday, in which he admitted his involvement. The sentence will be formally announced on April 15, ANP says.
The Iraqi-born Dutch national is the first terrorist suspected of planting roadside bombs in Iraq to be tried in the United States.
Al-Delaema was extradited to the United States in 2007 after he was identified on footage, which showed him burying roadside bombs. He will serve his sentence in a Dutch jail.
