Boskalis ups stake in Smit to 25%
Dredging firm Boskalis remains interested in taking over parts of the maritime services company Smit International, reports the Financieele Dagblad website on Monday.
At the weekend it emerged that Boskalis has increased its stake in Smit to just over 25% from 20%.
‘We are interested in the Harbour Towage unit,‘ Boskalis spokesman Martijn Schuttevaer told FD.nl on Monday but declined to comment on whether talks between the two parties have been resumed.
Boskalis dropped a hostile bid to takeover the maritime services company Smit in December following strong objections from Smit. According to FD.nl. Boskalis had offered over €1.1bn cash for the company.
