PSV trainer Huub Stevens quits
PSV head trainer Huub Stevens is to leave the Eindhoven club with immediate effect, the club said on its website on Wednesday.
Stevens says there is no ‘click’ between him and the players and that their relationship is not ‘optimal’ despite efforts to improve things.
This is Stevens’ first season with PSV. His contract was due to expire in 2010.
PSV, the Dutch reigning champion, has had a disappointing season so far. The club is out of the European competition and is currently fifth in the premier league, 15 points behind the leaders, AZ of Alkmaar.
Stevens’ resignation coincides with Feyenoord’s announcement that Marco Been is to take over as head trainer in Rotterdam.
