Court ruling costs Fortis €295m

Financial services company Fortis stands to lose €295m following the delay in selling the Belgian arm to BNP Paribas, the company said on Wednesday.

The delay came after a Brussels court ruling on December 12 which said shareholders must be consulted. That vote will now take place in February.
The losses stem from currency transactions.
