Parliament is worried that agreed cuts of €100m in the budget of the home affairs ministry will have an adverse effect on police staffing levels, reports Tuesday’s Telegraaf.

The police warned the minister that the cuts would mean less officers on the street and affect emergency services, says the paper. Several forces have told Ter Horst they will not meet reduced budgets without cutting into primary police work, the paper says.
But Ter Horst said savings are possible if police forces work together more closely.
The opposition Socialist (SP) and anti-immigration (PVV) parties wants the home affairs minister Guusje ter Horst to scrap the budget cuts, says the paper.
