MPs are to hold an emergency debate into the resignation of housing and integration minister Ella Vogelaar, who quit after the Labour party said it no longer had confidence in her.

Left-wing MPs say it was wrong to exclude parliament from the discussion and called on Labour leader Wouter Bos to outline the party’s position on integrating immigrants. Bos considered Vogelaar too soft in her approach.
