Ella Vogelaar, the minister responsible for urban renewal, faces a tough time in parliament on Thursday as MPs debate the Rotterdam housing corporation Woonbron, reports news agency ANP. A vote of no confidence cannot be ruled out, said ANP.

The minister has been criticised for her handling of Woonbron which is in financial difficulties because of its purchase and restoration of the cruise ship SS Rotterdam. Costs have now reached nearly €200m.
Vogelaar’s explanation of the situation on Wednesday did not satisfy the opposition Socialist and anti-immigration PVV parties. And both her own Labour party and its coalition partner Christian Democrats remain critical., says ANP.
According to Vogelaar, Woonbron’s management of the SS Rotterdam venture and its supervision was inadequate but she said the ministry took immediate action when the project went off the rails.
