CNV union may boycott autumn talks
The CNV trade union federation has still not decided whether it will take part in Tuesday’s traditional autumn talks with the FNV federation, ministers and the employers organisation VNO-NCW, Trouw reports on Friday.
The federation is demanding that employers keep an earlier promise of finding jobs for 200,000 long-term unemployed, the paper says. It also wants changes to plans to reform redundancy law.
Employers have already reached agreement with the FNV and social affairs minister Piet Hein Donner to limit the golden handshakes for people earning over €75.000 a year.
However CNV chairman Rene Paas told Trouw that workers are giving up job security rights without getting anything in return. The CNV is asking for a ‘truce’ of at least three years during which time present job security rights will stay in place.
