The government’s proposed environmental surcharge on the purchase of delivery vans and small trucks is virtually certain to be scrapped, reports Friday’s Financieele Dagblad.

Instead, the transport industry has agreed to boost the percentage of new vehicles with clean engines from 25% to 100% over the next four years, the paper says.
