Minister survives vote on transport card
Junior transport minister Tineke Huizinga survived a no-confidence vote over her handling of the new public transport smart card in parliament on Thursday night.
The introduction of the card (ov-kaart), which is due to replace paper tickets on buses, trams and the metro, has been beset by problems. It is the second time Huizinga has faced a vote of no confidence in connection with the card.
Meanwhile Thursday’s Financieele Dagblad reports that the consumer organisations that pulled out of discussions on the card earlier this week are now prepared to restarts talks.
