Budget leaks: business red tape to be cut
The cabinet will announce a new initiative to slash corporate red tape when its 2009 spending plans are published on September 16, the Financieele Dagblad reports on Wednesday.
One rule set to disappear is the requirement that every new worker be immediately registered with the tax office, the paper says.
The rule was brought in two years ago to combat illegal workers, but firms argue nothing is done with the information. Companies which do not comply with the current regulation face a fine of €1,134.
