Cross-border healthcare for pensioners

Dutch pensioners who live in other EU countries may soon be able to come to the Netherlands for medical care, the AD reports on Monday.

On Thursday, the European parliament will vote on a motion from Dutch MEP Ria Oomen making this possible.
At the moment, Dutch pensioners who live in, say, Belgium or Spain, pay health insurance premiums in the Netherlands but have no right to treatment in a Dutch hospital.
