Amsterdam in dock over Probo Koala

Amsterdam city council can face prosecution over the Probo Koala toxic waste scandal, judges decided on Wednesday.


The council had argued its officials should not be taken to court because they made mistakes while doing their jobs.
The ship Probo Koala was in the capital in July 2006 but left carrying its toxic cargo after a row over the cost of the clean-up.
