Transport minister promises road speed up
Transport minister Camiel Eurlings promised parliament on Monday evening that he will fast-track a new law to speed up road projects aimed at easing congestion and meeting environmental standards, reports Tuesday’s Volkskrant.
The paper says Eurlings was forced into the move by the Christian Democrats and Labour – both part of the coalition government.
The cabinet is now preparing an action plan to ensure that environmental measures such as erecting anti-noise screens and lowering the maximum speed limit are carried out.
