Orange spoonbill not a football fan
The orange spoonbill – a normally white bird with a spoon-shaped beak – which has been spotted on the island of Texel this week is a freak of nature, nature organisation Ecomare said on Friday.
‘But is a remarkable coincidence that it has been discovered during the Euro 2008 football,’ a spokesman told news agency ANP.
Spoonbills eat shrimp but this one’s digestion is probably failing to break down the colour, Ecomare said.
