New record for Van der Sar
Keeper Edwin van der Sar is now the most experienced Dutch football player when it comes to European and World Cups, news agency ANP reports.
Van der Sar (37) has now reached the final stages in six events (1996, 1998, 2000, 2004, 2006 and 2008). He was also part of the Dutch squad at the World Cup in the US in 1994 but did not play.
