More controls on financial advisors

Finance minister Wouter Bos plans to introduce new rules for financial advisors in parliament later this week, reports NOS tv news.

Bos wants to make sure consumers have a better idea of the costs and what exactly is happening to their money, the paper says.
At the moment, financial advisers’ income is largely based on bonuses and commission on the insurance policies and mortgages they sell, but consumers have no idea how much. Bos wants to increase transparency across the entire product range.
