Essent invests in expanding capacity

Energy group Essent is to invest between €5bn and €6bn into expanding its capacity, news agency ANP reported on Wednesday evening.

Some €1.5bn will be spent on boosting the production of electricity from gas, including €1bn on modernising and expanding capacity at the Claus power plant in Maasbracht.
In addition, General Electric has been commissioned to build a new combined gas and steam turbine in Moerdijk, ANP said.
The company is also looking at expanding its land and offshore wind turbine activities throughout Europe.
