Royal air travel bill tops €1m
The Dutch royal household spent over €1m on air travel in 2004 and 2005, which is far more than transport minister Camiel Eurlings has admitted to parliament, according to research by RTL news.
RTL says the official figures of €205,000 for 2004 and €275.000 in 2005 only cover the cost of renting private planes and exclude the use of government aircraft.
MPs have called on prime minister Jan Peter Balkenende to publish the real figures, news agency ANP reported on Sunday
