Major property fund on blacklist

One of the Netherlands’ biggest property funds Van Boom & Slettenhaar has been placed on the property investors’ association blacklist, the Financieele Dagblad reports on Friday.

B&S, which is non-listed and focuses on private individuals, has set up 12 property investment schemes since 1997 with managed assets of some €700m, the paper says.
The property investors’ lobby VVP claims B&S is not transparent enough in its cost calculations and corporate practices.
But B&S director Gerton van Boom says he answered all VVP’s objections two weeks ago. And the VVP has ignored his invitation for a meeting, he told the paper.
Van Boom says he suspects the dispute is connected to his pro self-regulation stance while the VVP wants more market regulation.
