Organic diet for chickens ‘not healthier’

Chickens fed on organic food are thinner and more able to deal with infections than factory-farmed birds but cannot be shown to be healthier for consumers, according to new academic research.


Farm minister Gerda Verburg says the results are ‘partly disappointing’.
The research was carried out by Wageningen University and three academic institutes, reports news agency ANP.
