New train timetable chaos – rail users
The new railway timetable which will be introduced on Sunday will lead to chaos with dozens of late night and early morning trains disappearing from the system and other services only running on alternate days, say rail users in today’s AD newspaper.
‘It’s a madhouse,’ a spokesman for rail lobby group Rover told the paper.
In total, some 120 train services a week have been scrapped from the new timetable which has been drawn up by track operator ProRail.
Rover, Dutch Rail (NS) and a number of other transport companies have made a formal complaint to the competition authority NMa about the changes.
