The Netherlands is one of the top five weapon exporting countries in the world with export licences worth over €1bn, according to the latest report of the Anti- Weapon Trade Campaign published on Wednesday.

Last year 50% of Dutch weapons exports went to Indonesia, Venezuela and Chile but there were also sales of night surveillance equipment to China, says the anti-weapons trade organisation.
Although there is a European ban on the sale of weapons to China, parts for night surveillance equipment are exempt, the organisation said.
