Van der Sar to retire from Dutch team

Dutch goal-keeper Edwin van der Sar is to retire from the national team at the end of the European Championships next year.


Van der Sar made his international debut in 1995 and has played a record 121 matches for the national Dutch team.
Van der Sar made his announcement on Radio 538 on his 37th birthday yesterday. He said he does not yet know whether he will continue to play for his British club Manchester United after the current season.
