Kramer and Smit take Dutch skating titles

Sven Kramer took gold for the second time in the Dutch long distance skating championship in Heerenveen on Sunday.


The 21-year-old from Friesland won the 10 km in a time of 13.17.80. On Friday he came first in the 5000 metres. The wins qualify him for the World Cup in Moscow in December.
Gretha Smit won the 5000 metres on Sunday in a time of 7.09.23 to become Dutch champion. Smit, who took silver in the 2002 Winter Olympics but was then beset by injury, also qualifys for the World Cup.
