Majority oppose redundancy reforms

Some 55% of the Dutch are opposed to social affairs minister Piet Hein Donner’s plans to reform redundancy law, according to a poll for the FNV trade union federation.

The TNS NIPO poll indicates that opposition to the plans rises to 61% when the union’s objections are explained. However, support goes up from 13% to 25% once the employers’ position is explained, ANP reports.
