State to guarantee start-up loans

Unemployed people who decide to start up their own companies will be able to get bank guarantees from the state, junior social affairs minister Ahmed Aboutaleb said late on Monday.

The government is setting aside €6m for experiments in Rotterdam, Lelystad and Leeuwarden, enough to help 300 jobless people launch a business.
Aboutaleb said he was still in talks with banks about the plan.
