AID director under fire

The workers council of the general inspection service (AID), part of the ministry of agriculture, has passed a vote of no confidence in its director Annemie Burger.

Council spokesman Roel Vincken said they felt the director no longer took them seriously, and they were disappointed by negative publicity surrounding the control of illegal trade in protected species.
