IT migrant scheme more popular

The number of people coming to the Netherlands under a special scheme for high-skilled IT workers more than doubled to 3,592 last year, says immigration minister Nebahat Albayrak.

The figure for the first four months of 2007 is 1,582 – almost as high as the whole of 2005 when the government introduced the special kennismigrant regulations.
