Thirty arrests at extreme-right demo

Police in Oss have arrested 30 people following a demonstration by extreme-right group NVU, including five members of the organisation itself. Some 100 people took part in the demonstration.

A number of banners were confiscated by police because of their associations with national socialism. ANP reported that some 20 German ‘autonomous national socialists’ were among those demonstrating.
The NVU said it demonstrated in Oss because it is the home of Socialist Party leader Jan Marijnissen, who supports an amnesty for long-term asylum seekers.
