Former integration minister Rita Verdonk was the most important person in the news last year, according to a poll of 2,500 school pupils. Verdonk, with 20% of the vote, was followed by former Dutch MP Ayaan Hirsi Ali with 12% and US president George W. Bush who had 11%.
