Supervisory boards full of old men

The typical member of a Dutch company’s supervisory board is still a man aged 60 (the average age has fallen by just one year), according to the shareholders’ lobby group VEB. Only 6% of board members are women, although four of Ahold’s seven-strong board are female.

All the board members at Hunter Douglas and Pharming are over 70 (the oldest is 83) while the youngest (and a woman) is 26-year-old Vanisha Mittal at Arcelor Mittal.
