Schiphol airport privatisation scrapped

The new cabinet does not plan to proceed with the controversial privatisation of Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport. The sale had been due to raise around €1bn for the treasury.


Amsterdam city council, which owns 22% of the shares in Schiphol is opposed to privatisation and used its veto, sparking an ongoing legal battle.
