Retail sector back on track
The retail sector made a sharp recovery in 2006, reversing three years of declining sales, the national statistics office CBS said on Friday. Retail sales rose 5.4% over the year. In particular home furnishings and electrical equipment boosted turnover, with an increase of almost 8%. Non-food sales rose by 6.3%.
