Amsterdam’s concert hall, the Muziekgebouw aan het IJ, has been named best new building of 2006 by the Dutch construction industry. The concert hall, designed by Danish architects 3x Nielsen, had a limited budget but is a building of great allure, the jury said. The top construction prize went to the tram tunnel through the centre of The Hague.
