Not enough evidence on ‘wife beating’ MP

The public prosecution department said today that it had not gathered enough evidence to prosecute Dion Graus, an MP for the anti-immigration PVV, for beating up his eight-months pregnant wife in 2003.

Limburg newspapers reported at the end of last year that his wife had made a formal complaint against Graus and claimed she had been hospitalised because of the attack.
PVV leader Geert Wilders is waiting for a formal reaction from Graus before deciding what action to take.
