Holland America Line back in Rotterdam

The Holland America Line is to reopen operations in Rotterdam, 36 years after ending its transatlantic services, Rotterdam mayor Ivo Opstelten announced in his New Year speech on Monday.

The cruise operator, whose ships still carry Dutch names, is to open its European headquarters in Rotterdam, Opstelten said. The Holland America Line is now part of US company Carnival Corp, the biggest cruise company in the world.
