Main points of the budget

■ Economy forecast to grow 3% in 2007
■ Budget surplus to reach 0.2%
■ Collective spending to reach €215 bn

■ Spending power of poor and pensioners to rise 1.25%
■ Spending power well-off (€60,000 a year) to rise 0.75%
■ State pension (AOW) to go up €50 per year plus inflation
■ €250 tax break for home carers
■ €250 mln extra for childcare
■ Corporate tax cut from to 25% from 29.6%
■ Employer contribution unemployment benefit (ww) reduced
■ Employee ww premiums cut by €120 mln a year
■ Number of benefit claimants to fall to 1.3 million, down 230,000 on 2003
■ €150 mln to improve air quality, including filters for buses and lorries
■€435 mln for residential homes
■ €95 mln for home help, psychiatric care and addiction services
■ Extra money for psychiatric prisons (tbs)
■ Extra money for the police
■ School leaving aged raised to 18
■ National historical museum to be set up
■ Introduction of nationalisation ceremonies
