Food was 18.4% more expensive in February than a year ago, national statistics agency CBS said in revised inflation figures on Tuesday.

Clothing too was up almost 12% in price while fuel and energy was cheaper than in February 2022, the CBS said.

The overall inflation figure for February is unchanged from earlier estimates at 8%.

The CBS said the rising cost of fresh vegetables was the motor behind the increase in food prices, which were responsible for 2.2 percentage points of the 8% inflation rate.
